Chapter One :Chapter 1

May in A City always carried that upbeat, youthful vibe—warm enough to feel alive, but never too hot to be annoying.

A City, Nancheng.

St. Lo High School.

“Mr. Sterling, our campus environment and management are honestly the best in all of Nancheng. Students here really look out for each other and respect their elders. Grade One, Class 1 is the top class. This way, please.”

Walking beside a composed, imposing man, Absalom Wilson kept a polite smile plastered on his face, his tone full of respect.

After all, this was the head of the Sterling family, the president of Sterling Group—also one of the school’s biggest investors.

From what Absalom had heard, Mr. Sterling came in person today because his younger brother would be studying here soon.

With that in mind, Absalom quickened his pace and led him toward the door of Class 1.

It was right at the start of class time, and a bunch of students were still coming in and out of the doorway.

Absalom squinted with a smile, saying, “Mr. Sterling, this is Class 1. They’re top-notch—our first-place student is way ahead of the second—”

“Vice Principal’s here! Stop fighting already! Alyssa, let’s head back to class! Getting caught by him is not good!” a student with dyed yellow hair suddenly yelled, completely cutting him off.“Please, as if. A tiny vice principal thinks he can mess with the Fishers?” Alyssa Fisher twirled the utility knife in her hand, her voice full of contempt.

“Grace! Alyssa’s been doing taekwondo for four years, you can’t take her.”

“Your hand’s bleeding like crazy. Just let her win for now, wait till Adelaide gets here and she’ll deal with her. I’m begging you, at least go to the nurse first…”

The girl with the high ponytail crouched beside Grace Monroe, staring at her anxiously as Grace sat on the floor, silent.

Absalom Wilson froze when he heard the noise, then rushed toward the classroom. “What’s going on! What’s with all this yelling during class!”

A boy darted past too fast and crashed right into him, knocking the wig off his head.

His skull buzzed from the hit, but he didn’t even bother picking the wig up.

He hurried straight to the front.

One glance, and he saw a girl gripping a knife, while another girl had fallen to the floor.

The one on the floor had long, soft brown hair and a face so pretty and delicate it made people want to protect her; a faint red mark stood out on her cheek.

A two‑centimeter cut on her arm wasn’t deep, but fresh blood was still flowing.

Her white school uniform was stained with blood and dirt.

Beside her, a desk lay overturned, books scattered everywhere, the whole place looking like a mess. The girl didn’t say a word, just stared back at the crowd with that icy, unblinking look.

Hearing the vice principal arrive, Alyssa Fisher didn’t even pretend she wanted to head back to class. With her perfectly done makeup and that arrogant tilt of her chin, she faced the girl in front of her. Catching the coldness in Grace Monroe’s eyes, she let out a soft, mocking laugh.

“Grace Monroe, you really got lucky today. I wasn’t planning to cut your armAlyssa Fisher, the pampered little princess of the Fisher family, was famous for being spoiled, reckless, and totally out of control. She had even taken taekwondo for four years.

She’d only transferred to Class 10 of Grade One a week ago.

And honestly, Class 10 was basically the school’s headache collection, packed with all the young masters and misses who sat at the bottom of the rankings.

They didn’t care about studying at all, but because Adelaide Lane from Grade One Class 1 and Catherine Wyatt from Grade Two Class 1 had stepped in hard on several bullying cases, the whole school had been unusually quiet.

Even Class 10 behaved themselves a bit, mostly because they didn’t want to cross those two.

But Alyssa Fisher? She wasn’t afraid of Adelaide or Catherine at all—she just occasionally acted like she was giving them face.

Now that Adelaide wasn’t on campus and Catherine was stuck taking the joint exam, Alyssa naturally turned her attention to making trouble for Grace Monroe.

Absalom Wilson’s face looked pretty grim; something like this could easily get serious.

And bullying wasn’t something the school could brush aside just because she was a Fisher.

With that in mind, he tightened his expression. “Alyssa, you’ve been here one week and you’re already dragging Class 10 into trouble, even injuring the top student…”Alyssa Fisher cut him off with a bored look. “Top of the grade, so what? If I feel like it, I can make her disappear with a snap. I don’t care about your lectures. Call her parents if you want.”

She’d never heard of any powerful family in A City with the surname Monroe. She’d even checked up on Grace Monroe and found nothing.

So in her eyes, the girl was just a nobody.

Which meant Alyssa was pretty damn sure that even if she beat Grace half‑dead today,“Vice Principal, please, you have to stand up for Grace!” The girl with the high ponytail had tears gathering in her eyes as she turned to Absalom Wilson.

“You can relax. The school will dig into this thoroughly,” Absalom Wilson said.

He faced the two classes, his tone sharp. “Everyone, back to your seats. Someone take Grace Monroe to the infirmary to get that cut cleaned up. And everyone who sided with Alyssa Fisher, follow me to the office. No one gets to slip away from this.”

Grace bent down, picked up her phone from the floor, and said, her voice cool, “No need, Vice Principal. Let’s go to the office first. I’m fine.”

“Grace, please… just go to the infirmary,” the high ponytail girl whispered, eyes red as she looked at her.

“I’m really okay. Don’t worry,” Grace murmured back.

After that, she turned toward the classroom door. For just a split second, her pale eyes dimmed, like a shadow passing through them—then it was gone.

[Hey babies, look over here, author note incoming!

A little heads‑up for you all!

– The heroine isn’t weak at the start; she just couldn’t take Alyssa Fisher down alone, plus they had numbers.

– Outsiders don’t know her identity early on. There’s a reason for that later. If you can’t accept it, you can drop the story, no hard feelings.- This story is set in an elite academy. The heroine isn’t some all‑powerful lead—she’s a spoiled, adored heiress from a powerful family, raised with a whole bunch of overprotective brothers.

- The main couple are childhood sweethearts who fall for each other at the same time.

- Some scenes might feel a bit cringe

it was written ages ago…

, and yes, a few characters talk like “this young master” or “this young lady” at the start.

- There are *a lot* of characters—tons of brothers, group scenes, and several side couples

including some BL hints, so feel free to bail if that’s not your thing

. Sometimes many people pop up at once, but they all matter later, so don’t worry about getting lost; I’ll introduce them one by one.

- The writing’s a bit rough, so perfectionists might want to skip this.

- If anything in these warnings hits your personal no‑go zone, you can just quietly exit—no need to comment

- Check the summary first; the heroine is soft, clingy, and loves acting cute for attention. If that’s not your vibe, feel free to slip out.

- The whole world is fictional—completely made‑up setting—so don’t connect it to real life.
